Yummiest Lollypop Masala Dry!

Staying in a tiny town of kalva doesn't give you much gourmet options! But super tasty, pocket friendly options! If you know what to chose and from where, the town can be a total foodie delight! All you need, is a good palate and of course a foodie friend who updates you all about it!

One such yummiest suggestion is what I had today, Wasn't my first time, but so tasty and zingy that it  truly deserves a mention! Well, I'm talking about the Lollypop Masala Dry served by 'Viki Chinese'. A humble, simple and a tiny little shack, which has always a group of loyal customers, and take away members!

Well talking about this 'Lollypop Masala Dry'
, the moment it comes in front of you, you can actually 'smell' all the aromas sizzling in those drumsticks! With Crisp noodles soaked in a generous amount of onion and spring onions kind of 'dry gravy' flavoured absolutely in strong punchy flavors such as ginger, garlic and all that goodiness. In it's own way it glorifies Indianised Chinese! The dish looks excruciatingly spicy, but when you bite into that moist tender chicken, you would realise, that spiciness is not the hero of this dish, but good flavours is what it is all about! All this for just 110/- bucks, which can be shared by 2 people minimum. Who knew, happiness could come so cheap!

Next time you are hungry in this humble town, do not forget this simple place, with the joilliest manager uncle you would ever find! And yes, everything on the menu is quite yummy, but don't forget to order the yummiest ;)

1st Post, Place m in love with, Jamjar Diner!

‘People who love food are the best people.’
-Julia Child
Well I guess so am I, and if you are reading this, so are you. I have always been a foodie, thought what better than to helps our fellow foodies out, by reviewing cool places, sharing recipes. So I enter this world, by reviewing that one place, which has totally floored me. By just being what it is, Simply Amazing!
This place about which I can’t stop talking is ‘Jamjar Diner’, located just parallel to the coast of Versova. A tiny place easily missed with the blink of an eye. But if you look closely, the entrance just looks beautiful with its easy simple kind of like Victorian architecture.
Once you pass in through the door, you wonder if there’s some spells that’s keeping the place this big and spacious on the inside. With eccentric crooked shelves, and a funky jukebox, the place keeps your eyes engaged, and mind excited about what you would see next. We moved upstairs, to an even bigger spacious place, there’s an outdoor setting too if you wish too. But as the climate was humid, we preferred to settle inside.
With smiling waiting staff and a place to sit of our choice, what more could we ask for. Of course, food! With such an extensive menu, all I wanted to do was eat, everything on their menu! But we started off with just the Nachos with chipotle chicken. Crispy nachos, with super yummy chipotle sauce and fresh bit-sized chicken pieces, with bits of tangy-spicy jalapenos and dollop of cream! Overflowing with gooey-ness it was the perfect start to what I was quite sure was going to be an amazing meal!
Next, we had the BBQ Chicken Pizza with Gouda. A huge 11’ thin crusted pizza, overflowing with cheesy goodiness arrived without much of wait. The pizza itself had filled us almost. But I wasn’t going to give up on the Burger I had so heard about. Wanted to try the one with bacon, but as my friends are chicken eaters, we settled on the bbq chicken burger! The first bite into it still makes my mouth water, In between yummy chunky chicken fillets, mayo, cheese, a crunch of onion rings, with a sharp tang of jalapenos! Just like biting into, perfection!
All of this yumminess was accompanied with cool drinks! Well just being cool is not good enough for Jamjar, it keeps the eccentricity alive by serving thei
r drinks in jars. Though there weren’t many options for the non-aloholic drinks, my tee-totaler friend ordered a fresh orange juice, which wasn’t a disappointment at all! Whereas the cocktail caipiroska was as amazing as it could be. But, their hand-krafted beer of the month, ‘DoppelgAnger’ was the star of the night! A stout which couldn’t go more perfectly with food! Dousing it in between bites was a total pleasure!
Well a meal so good can’t be complete without a dessert, and of course we ordered Jamjar’s famous, ‘Flower pot dessert’. As one of my friends had her birthday, I requested them to get it with a candle on, it was very sweet of them to oblige! The dessert actually comes up to your table in a pot, an orchid twigs jus gives it the right looks with a vibrant colour. When you dig in, the initial layer of crunchy oreo soil and vanilla ice-cream is something you want to jus dig in forever. Just when you think, this is the perfect dessert, you dig deeper in a better world of brownies, marshmallows combined with the ice-cream and soil, the whole experience feels like having a piece of heaven. Being as greedy as I can ever, I would love a few more marshmallows too!

Eating at this place, wasn’t about tasting food, it was about having an experience, which is hard to find these days! We left this place with full stomachs, fuller hearts and even fuller galleries as the beauty of this place demands a good deal of snapping! I would recommend this place forever and always. Go, spoil yourself! J
